Having never tried Paddleboarding before, I had no clue what to expect when we drove to Hobie Beach last week and rented four paddleboards from Lubo. Although we were inexperienced, our group as a whole was pretty athletic, so we thought to skip the cost of the instructional session and just jump right in. Lubo, a kind man with years of experience on the ocean, insisted that we undergo some training due to safety considerations, and offered us a quick talk for free. Because of his instruction, we were on our feet within a couple of minutes, and none of us ended up in the ocean unintentionally! We each paid $30 for an hour of paddleboarding, during which time we saw swimming iguanas, tons of fish, and a few stingrays! Lubo's two friendly dogs splashed around next to our boards on the way out and greeted us on the beach on our return. We had a blast and will definitely return again. |
